As we continue our collective efforts to foster an inclusive and respectful environment on our campus, we wish to share with you a resource co-authored by the Constructive Dialogue Institute and More in Common.
The attached report presents a comprehensive analysis based on a nationally representative sample of 2,618 college students . It offers insights into the current state of free expression and inclusion within higher education institutions across the United States. The report delves into the norms of discourse, explores experiences of students across the political spectrum, and identifies the underlying values driving conflicts surrounding speech.
We know the landscape of free expression on college campuses can be complex and multifaceted. It is inspiring to note that, regardless of political ideology, students expressed a shared value for open and constructive dialogue.
