Bonner Leader Applications Open!

Looking to get involved in the community? And grow as a leader? Apply to the Bonner Leader Program for spring 2025!

If you qualify for federal work study while attending Wilkes, and you enjoy serving and learning and growing, consider applying to be a Bonner Leader. This unique program allows you to get paid to serve at a non-profit organization in the community. Plus… Bonners are awarded a stipend for the year to account for the training sessions, retreats, and other required meetings throughout fall and spring semesters.

Bonner Leaders attend regular training sessions dedicated to strengthening leadership skills, communication skills, project management skills, and more. Each incoming cohort has the opportunity to grow together, and they work with the upper classmen cohorts to positively impact campus and the surrounding communities through various activities and events during the school year. Freshmen Bonners spend spring break in Washington, D.C. doing service in our nation’s capital. Sophomores spend a day with Bonners from other universities, and this year Wilkes is hosting the event on our campus. And Junior Bonners travel to a new destination each year to perform service work … We flew to Hilo, Hawaii last May, where we worked with OK Farms, Habitat for Humanity, and Ke Kai Ola marine center! Senior Bonners complete a capstone project that will continue to impact their service site after graduation.

This exciting and fulfilling opportunity for undergraduates to learn and grow as a leader while making an impact in our communities is offered to only a few students each year.
