The snow & bitter cold temperatures have created a variety of issues. The depth of the snow has resulted in limited places to put the snow, in turn this has limited are ability to fully clear some of our campus walkways and has resulted in some pathways along the street being plowed in periodically as city plows work to widen the roads. We are working to keep these open as quickly as we can under the current circumstances.
Additionally, the warm buildings and snow build up on the roof is creating a lot of icicles these create very icy areas on the ground, we are putting cones out to close or direct traffic at some entrances. Please exercise caution extreme caution in these areas.
We are actively treating parking lots and walkways around campus, but our ice melting products don’t work as well with the current temperatures.
If you see a problem area, please email 2fix@wilkes.edu to report the area providing as much detail as possible so we can try to address the issues.
