A reminder that the Wilkes Spring Career & Internship Fair will be held Thursday (right after break) March 12 from 10:00-1:00 in the MAC, Simms Center.
This is your opportunity to learn about and apply for internships, jobs or summer positions. There are a wide range of employers, and a few grad schools for those considering further education, attending.
Meet hiring recruiters face to face and know that your resume is not going out into “internet oblivion.”
To Prep:
1. Stop in for a resume check or to pick up some resume samples-Center for Career Development & Internships (tan building behind the Henry Student Center) if you are applying. If you are a first or second year student you can just attend and learn about what companies look for in your major.
(FYI-Thursday-FEB 26-Dunkin Truck will be outside of the Career Center in the Student Center parking lot, too!)
2. Plan a neat, conservative outfit vs. leisure or athletic or wear.
3. Check out who is coming and what they are seeking on your Wilkes Handshake page. If you don’t have your page claimed, do it and find out everything your career center is doing for students!
4. Don’t get stressed about attending a career fair, so many students do initially, then they are amazed that they actually had a great time!
4. Get in touch with any questions, carol.bosack@wilkes.edu for careers/grad schools; jenna.weiss@wilkes.edu for internships.
