Dear Current Graduate Students,
The Graduate Studies Committee (GSC) is seeking a graduate student representative to join the committee for the 2022/2023 academic year. The main functions of the GSC are to:
- recommend changes in rules and standards related to admissions and ensure faculty participation in admission activities for all graduate and professional post-baccalaureate studies programs;
- recommend changes regarding matters involving policy and procedures pertaining to the administration of the student financial aid program as they pertain to graduate students;
- review and implement standards as these appear in the Graduate Bulletin, including grading systems and requirements for graduation;
- engage in efforts to enhance the graduate student experience including, but not limited to, assisting with or facilitating graduate student gatherings, expanded graduate students services, increased outreach, and other activities to improve the graduate student experience.
The Graduate Student Representative must be currently enrolled in a graduate program and remain enrolled throughout the 2022/2023 academic year. The selected representative must be available and willing to attend scheduled meetings and discuss matters that pertain to the continued improvement of the graduate student experience. This is a volunteer position. No compensation will be provided.
The GSC meets virtually on the second Tuesday of each month from September to May from 11am to 1pm Eastern Time. If you are interested in joining the committee and you meet the criteria for this position, please complete the Graduate Student Representative Application Form here by October 7, 2022:
The committee will select one applicant and notify everyone of their decision prior to the next scheduled committee meeting. The successful candidate would be expected to join us for the November meeting.
