Since 2010, the Etruscan Prize has been awarded each year to a currently enrolled student in the Wilkes University Maslow Family Graduate Program in Creative Writing. In 2022, Etruscan expanded this program to include a separate prize for Wilkes University undergraduates.
Entry requirements: One page (your best page) in any genre (beginning, middle, or end). Prose, script, or poetry. A page that sings! Previously published work is ineligible for submission. Only work submitted by undergraduate students enrolled in Wilkes University as of March 31, 2023 will be considered. All other entries are ineligible. Submission entry deadline: March 31, 2023 at 12:00 midnight (ET)
Submission entry format guidelines:
- Use 1″ margin on all sides.
- Remove your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any other identifying marks from your submission attachment.
- Indent five spaces for each new paragraph.
- Double-space the entire text.
- Use a standard font, 12-point type: Times New Roman, Arial, or Courier.
- Only Word document submissions will be accepted.
- Only one submission per student will be considered.
- Previously published work is ineligible for submission.
The winner of the 2023 Etruscan Prize will receive a $100 honorarium, six complimentary copies of Etruscan Press titles, a limited edition broadside of the winning piece, and a 30-minute telephone conference with an Etruscan Press editor. The prize winner will be announced during the Wilkes University awards ceremony prior to the Spring 2023 Commencement.
