Wilkes University Police Department Changes Its Uniforms

After more than 15 years, the Wilkes University Police Department is changing its uniforms.

The campus community will begin seeing University police officers in navy blue uniforms as opposed to powder blue uniforms. Non-sworn public safety officers will remain in yellow polo shirts and dark blue pants.

The Department proposed this change as the current uniform cycle had reached the normal wear-and-tear replacement stage. The navy blue uniform is a color typically worn by municipal law enforcement agencies and, of course, is synonymous with Wilkes. Shoulder patches identifying the officers of Wilkes University will remain the same.

Thank you for your continued support of our officers.
