At this time one more mentor is needed.
Applications for the Pharmacy Team Peer Mentor program for the School of Pharmacy are now being accepted. As you may recall, last year your team was assigned a P2 mentor during orientation. Working closely with Dr. Olenak and the faculty advisors, peer mentors provide guidance and support during the P1 year and beyond. In addition, Drs. DeLuca and Ference will look to the mentors for some guidance and advice in the Foundations course.
In addition to the team mentors, we are also looking for a student to serve as a transfer mentor. This is a transfer student that helps the new students overcome barriers that are unique to transferring into a new school.
If you think you may be interested in serving as a peer or transfer mentor, please send Mrs. Frail an email with a brief essay of why you want to be a mentor and why you think you’d be a good fit for the program. Students must be in good academic standing, please include your current GPA from the end of the P1 year. If you’re interested, you need to commit to attending P1 orientation (Sunday 8/29) and the White Coat Ceremony (TBD). In your e-mail, please indicate if you can make P1 Orientation. P1 Orientation is expected to be an in-person event this year.
If you are interested, please respond to Mrs. Frail via email (bernadette.frail@wilkes.edu) by 4pm August 3rd. We will let you know if you are selected as a mentor on or before August 16th @ 5 pm, so please mark the date of Orientation on your calendar to keep it open.
