**if interested, please reach out to Ms. Holt Macey first **

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) has opened its 2022-2023 application cycle for its Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Rotation in Association Management. This rotation provides student pharmacists the opportunity to enjoy a unique professional and educational experience.

Student pharmacists who are selected for this rotation will have the opportunity to enhance their national comprehension of community pharmacy practice and the issues impacting the chain drug industry as they understand the priorities of a national pharmacy association. Selected students will also have the ability to develop their written and verbal communication skills, research the enhanced role of pharmacy in innovative patient-centered care models, and participate in events to promote the profession of pharmacy in-person or virtually, depending on the status of pandemic. Students will be exposed to a variety of topics throughout their rotation, including, but not limited to: pharmacy care, emerging patient care models, policy, and research. Rotation experiences vary due to the changing nature of projects and the current environment of the organization, as well as the need to ensure that each student has the flexibility to shape their experience according to their interests and goals.

Please be advised that due to the current COVID-19 virus pandemic, the NACDS office is currently working on a voluntary in-office or remote status. However, the status of the NACDS office is subject to change. NACDS will work with students who are selected for the APPE Rotation to address pandemic-related considerations.

We encourage motivated PharmD students to apply for this unique opportunity. Applicants are required to submit a current resume or CV, a cover letter explaining their career goals and interest in chain pharmacy and/or association management, a writing sample, and one letter of recommendation from a pharmacy dean, faculty member, preceptor, or a recent pharmacy employer. Applications will be accepted online through December 10, 2021.
