CODIE will host a Mental Health First Aid training in collaboration with Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. This is not a train-the-trainer opportunity, but an opportunity to increase your awareness.
The training will be offered virtually from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You will have the choice of two dates: Friday, Jan. 7, or Wednesday, Jan. 12. You will need to complete two hours of pre-work prior to the instructor-led course.
And the best part is that the course is free!
If you are interested, fill out the SIGN-UP FORM so that we can get the pre-work material to all participants after the start of the new year. The deadline to sign up is Monday, Jan. 3.
About Mental Health First Aid:
Mental Health First Aid is an eight-hour training course designed to give members of the public key skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Mental Health First Aid is offered virtually with two hours of self-paced pre-work. Just as CPR training helps a layperson without medical training assist an individual following a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid training helps a layperson assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis.
