Adventurous Alumni Speaker Series Kicks Off Jan. 20

Grace Cadigan kicks off WAE’s Adventurous Alumni speaker series at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, via Zoom. is going first.

Cadigan will speak about her Wilkes and life experiences that have contributed to her current path. Cadigan graduated from Wilkes in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. While at Wilkes, she was a research student in Dr. Steele’s lab and an Adventure Education facilitator. From these two programs, Cadiganfound her love for outdoor recreation and resource protection.

She began working for the National Park Service in 2019 where she became a Certified Nationally Registered EMT, Structural Firefighter and Search and Rescue Technician. She has gone on to work at Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Grand Canyon National Park. She is currently in the process of studying to be a U.S. Law Enforcement Park Ranger and will then transfer to Grand Teton National Park working to protect our country’s natural resources.

In her spare time, Cadigan enjoys exercising, hiking and cozying up with a good book and a nice cup of tea. She greatly attributes her love for the outdoors to Wilkes Adventure Education where she learned the importance of making connections with others while being outside.
