SDIPPE Hours available for a Presentation at a SOP Symposium

Dr. Judith DeLuca

P2-P4 students can earn 3 SDIPPE hours by presenting at a SOP symposium entitled “Exploring the Drivers of Structural Racism on Health Inequities and Advocating for Change.” All SOP students, faculty, and staff are also invited to attend this symposium on 3/22/22 from 11-3pm. We will have a keynote speaker and lunch served. Potential topics for P2 through P4 students are to discuss racialized health inequities involving areas such as women and children, chronic disease, preventable disease, mental health, COVID 19, or other areas. Students could also present on how mistrust in healthcare increases health inequities. Other topics related to structural racism will be considered. Presentations will be 10 minutes long and should be interactive. In order to be a presenter, students will need to attend a 20 minute orientation, create the presentation, submit the presentation for approval by 2/25/22 and present at the symposium. Students can work alone or in small groups of 2-3. Ten minute presentation slots are available on 3/22 between 11-12, 1-2, and 2-3. If interested, email judith.deluca1@wilkes.edu for more information.
