Return COVID Testing Available on Campus

Wilkes University has been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 testing situation in our area and throughout the U.S. We know that many of you have been challenged to find testing options that would allow you to be tested and receive your results within five days of returning to campus. Two free testing opportunities will be available on campus.

Wilkes will host rapid testing clinics from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, and Friday, Jan. 28. The clinics will be held behind the Henry Student Center in a drive-through or walk-up format in partnership with the Wilkes-Barre Health Department.

  • If you are driving, enter the student center parking lot from S. Franklin St. near Passan Hall (as marked) and follow the directional signage.
  • If you are walking, a testing table will be located near the Wilkes-Barre Health Department trailer.
  • All participants should bring a completed copy of the attached form (choose from English or Spanish options).

These clinics fall within five days of face-to-face classes resuming and results are ready within hours. Participants will be provided with instructions for retrieving their results electronically. Results will need to be uploaded by the participant to the University’s COVID-19 documentation system as part of required reentry testing.

Appointments are not accepted and testing is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The clinic is open to Wilkes University and members of the greater community. If you can secure a test elsewhere, you are encouraged to do so. Residential students should consult the instructions received from Residence Life on move-in and testing requirements.

If you have any questions regarding these testing dates, please call the Wilkes-Barre Health Department at 570-208-4653.
