Nesbitt School of Pharmacy to Participate in Script Your Future Challenge

Submitted by: Bree Polascik

The Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy (NSoP) is participating in the Script Your Future Challenge for the 4th consecutive year! Script Your Future (SYF) is a national campaign/competition amongst pharmacy schools to raise awareness about the importance of medication adherence. Nearly 3 out of 4 people do not take their medication as directed, and some reasons for this could be that they don’t understand how the medicine works, can’t afford their prescriptions, or worry about side effects. Pharmacy students and faculty play a key role in addressing this medication adherence problem and help others understand how important it is to take medications as directed. NSoP participated in SYF for the first time in 2019 and received the National Rookie Award and in 2021, they took home the National Social Media Outreach Award! During a time where virtual outreach became pivotal due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy stepped up and advocated for medication adherence and vaccine confidence in our community! The NSoP is excited to participate again this year and hopes to bring home another award!

The 2022 SYF Challenge is being held from January 17th, 2022 to March 28th, 2022. Students will work with faculty to create outreach activities as well as utilize social media in the hopes to reach as many members of the community as possible.

There will be many opportunities for patient SD-IPPE hours during the SYF challenge, so please be on the look-out for sign-ups via email and Nesbitt News!
