PennDOT will start work on the sidewalks on South Street next to the Simms Center On Main on Tuesday, July 5.
The work is weather dependent and may change based on the forecast.
Please follow the appropriate signage and avoid walking or driving in the construction areas (walkways and driveways). It can take seven to 10 days for a driveway entrance to build up to the proper strength, so it is important to follow the signage even if the pavement looks dry. PennDOT will adjust signage and open up areas to traffic as they are ready.
Areas impacted:
- Sidewalks along South Street
- Driveway entrances to Simms Center on Main parking lot (closing one entrance at a time)
- Simms Center on Main building entrances along South Street
The following areas will not be impacted:
- The S. Main St. entrance to the Simms Center
- Starbucks and the Starbucks entrance
- East Campus Gateway
