Wilkes University is saddened to share news of the passing of John Pesta, 73, former executive director of facilities. Many from our community will remember John fondly as he worked at Wilkes for 32 years before retiring in 2015.
John joined the university in 1981 and played a key role in the completion of many important projects, including the construction of the Henry Student Center, the Marts Gymnasium, Breiseth Hall and the Cohen Science Center. In 2011, John was recognized for 30 years of service. He was a devoted, admired and well-respected member of our campus.
John’s son, Seth, is a member of the Wilkes University Police Department. In addition, John is survived by his wife Michele, sons Joshua and Benjamin and their wives, three granddaughters, Olivia, Amelia and Lila, and numerous family and friends.
