Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to submit proposals for the 2023 Women’s and Gender Studies Conference that will take place on April 3 and 4, 2023 at King’s College. If you have conducted a research project, written a paper, would like to screen a video, or engage in performance art (e.g., poetry slam, dramatic performance, dance) on a gender, sexuality, or other diversity-related topic, this is a great event to share your work. We also welcome presentations about service-learning, community service, and travel abroad opportunities.
Proposals are due by March 1, 2023. Please use the link below to submit your 150-word abstract: https://forms.office.com/r/zcBLj405F6
All conference presentations will take place in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center at King’s College.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Women, Work, and the Economy.” Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Joyce P. Jacobsen. Her talk is entitled, “The Economics of Gender: Current Trends and Issues.” King’s College will host Dr. Jacobsen’s presentation on April 3 at 7:00 p.m.
For more information or questions about the conference, please contact Dr. Jennifer Thomas, Director of Women’s and Gender Studies, at jennifer.thomas@wilkes.edu.
