Martin Luther King Jr. Day Event Moved to the Sordoni Art Gallery

The Office of Diversity Initiatives will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day on campus on from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Jan. 19. Please note that the event will now take place in the Sordoni Art Gallery.

You’re invited to join us to honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. The event, with a focus on the theme, “Be the change you want to see in the world,” will feature remarks from keynote speaker Shawn Walker and members of the University community.

Wilkes sophomore communication studies major Zach Paraway will sing the National Anthem. Katherine Ermeus, junior political science major and president of the Multicultural Student Coalition, will perform the Black National Anthem. Aariyana Gould, senior public history and musical theatre major, will sing “Amazing Grace.”

Guests are invited to stay for a complimentary lunch provided by Caribbean Paradise.  

The parking garage will be open for any off-campus visitors.
