The City of Wilkes-Barre will begin parking restrictions and road closures in preparation for a free summer concert scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 19.
Meters will be bagged and NO PARKING signs will be posted on East Market Street from Washington Street to Public Square, South Main from Northampton Street to Public Square, and on all parking spaces on Public Square, beginning late afternoon on Thursday, Aug. 17.
The city will start ticketing and towing on Public Square at 6 a.m. and on South Main and East Market Streets at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19.
Street closures will be in place from 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, until the end of the concert and will affect:
- East Market Street from Washington Street to Public Square
- West Market Street from Franklin Street to Public Square
- South Main Steet from Northampton Street to Public Square
- North Main Street from Butler Lane to Public Square
Paid parking will be available at:
- LAZ Parking Central Garage — 52 South Main Street
- James F. Conahan Intermodal Garage —82 South Washington Street
- LAZ Parking Park and Lock North — 30 North Main Street
- LAZ Parking Park and Lock East —North Washington Street
- Wilkes-Barre Parking Authority Lot — 25 West Northampton Street
