Luzerne Conservation District and Penn State Extension to Hold Spotted Lantern Fly Workshop at Wilkes on Sept. 26

Luzerne Conservation District and Penn State Extension educator Vinnie Catrone will present a Spotted Lanternfly Workshop in the Jean & Paul Adams Commons (JPAC) from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

The spotted lanternfly is a serious invasive pest that feeds in large groups on a wide range of plants including grapes, peaches, apples, walnuts, oaks and maples. The feeding damage stresses the plants which can lead to decreased health and potentially death. Spotted lanternflies can be a significant nuisance, affecting the quality of life and enjoyment of the outdoors.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.  Please contact Keith George at Luzerne Conservation District to reserve your spot no later than Sept. 25. Call 570-674-7991 x 6 or email keith@luzcd.org with your name, phone number and number of people attending.
