The Wilkes Women’s and Gender Studies Department is accepting submissions for the Spring 2024 Women’s and Gender Studies Conference which will be held on April 8th and 9th at Wilkes. Proposals are due by February 26th, 2024 and may be submitted online at https://www.wilkes.edu/signature-events/wgs-conference/index.aspx
We invite students, faculty, staff, and community members who have conducted gender studies or social justice-related research projects, who wish to engage in performance art, and/or who would like to raise awareness about WGS-related issues to present at our conference. Session types include research presentations, panel discussions, video screenings, and performance art (e.g., poetry slam). We also welcome presentations about service learning, community service, and travel abroad opportunities. This year’s conference theme is “Transgender Identity and Feminism.”
