The Nesbitt School of Pharmacy is pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for the Spring 2024 semester and upcoming 2024-2025 academic year! There are many different scholarship opportunities available for students who qualify. Please indicate if you are a student with a previous degree so that can be taken into account for financial need. Read the information below to determine if you meet the criteria and are able to complete the process to be considered for the scholarship. Please note that you should put the name of the scholarship in the title of your essay so that it’s clear which scholarship you are applying for. Only list your name and current year (ex. P1) at the top of the essay. Email Ms. Angela Ciucci at angela.ciucci@wilkes.edu by 11:59PM on Sunday, February 18th. ALL scholarships are due by this date! Please note that if financial need is part of the criteria, a student must have a completed FAFSA on file. Kibbe Pharmacy Scholarship The Pharmacy Scholarship criteria includes academic performance, financial aid need, and an essay. The essay should address “the type of alumni I hope to be.” Preference will be given to students who are not eligible for undergraduate level financial aid awards, but this does not exclude any students from applying. Although the deadline is within this semester, please note that this scholarship would not be applied to your financial account until next academic year (2024-2025). Samuel Berk Memorial Scholarship Scholarship criteria includes academic performance, financial aid, and an essay. The student should submit a one-page essay on “involvement in School of Pharmacy and community extracurricular activities.” Preference will be given to students who are not eligible for undergraduate level financial aid awards, but this does not exclude any students from applying. Although the deadline is within this semester, please note that this scholarship would not be applied to your financial account until next academic year (2024-2025). The Francis S. and Mary G. Carrozza Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy students in good academic standing, with financial need. Preference will be given to students who graduated from Luzerne County high schools. The scholarship will be awarded to one or more students in each of the three (P1-P3) classes. The amount of the scholarship will be determined each year by an equal split of the scholarship portion of the total funds made available to the university. The one page essay should list your current year, Luzerne County High School in which you graduated from, along with the impact Luzerne County has had on shaping you, and financial need (if applicable). Walgreens Multilingual Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a single student who is fluent in one or more languages in addition to English with an interest in community pharmacy. While not required to apply, please include if you are a current Walgreens employee. Students who meet these criteria should submit a one-page essay addressing the criteria and clearly identify which language(s) they are fluent in. A student must not have been a previous recipient of this specific scholarship. This scholarship will be applied this semester. Walgreens Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a single student with an interest in community pharmacy. Additionally, the student must describe how they embrace and promote diversity and inclusion initiatives on campus OR how they represent an underrepresented minority group. While not required to apply, please include if you are a current Walgreens employee. The student should submit a one-page essay describing how they meet the criteria. A student must not have been a previous recipient of this specific scholarship. This scholarship will be applied this semester. CVS Health Pharmacy Scholarship and CVS Spanish Scholarship The criteria for the CVS Student Scholarship includes good current academic standing, having a career interest in community practice, and having demonstrated time volunteering with an organization that supports underserved populations. Additionally, please note if you are bilingual (not required but gives preference to one of the scholarships and can be any language). One CVS Scholarship will be awarded to a student or students specifically proficient in Spanish. Please indicate if you are fluent in Spanish or any other language in your essay. Students interested in being considered for this scholarship should submit a one-page essay addressing the criteria. While not required to apply, please include if you are a CVS employee. Preference will be given to a student or students who have not previously been awarded this scholarship. These scholarships will be applied this semester. |
