Dose of Culture Elevating Careers with Black Pharmacists panel hosted by Walgreens

Submitted by: Justin Collins

Walgreens will be leading a virtual panel in honor of Black History Month (details below).

In honor of Black History Month, our Brand Marketing team will lead a virtual panel, Dose of Culture Elevating Careers with Black Pharmacists. Rick Gates (Walgreens Chief Pharmacy Officer) will serve as the moderator and we will have four Black Walgreens Pharmacists, who are graduates of Pharmacy Schools at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs), joining us as panelists. The panel discussion will be broadcasted on the Walgreens YouTube Channel on 2/22/24 at 12pm CST (1pm EST). To access please visit //Youtube.com/@Walgreens

Given the shortage of pharmacists in our industry and the fact that less than 7% of US pharmacists are Black or African American, this event presents a significant opportunity for our profession and the communities we serve.

Our virtual chat is designed to facilitate engaging discussions on various topics, including:

Finding purpose in a pharmacy career
Inspirations behind choosing the pharmacy profession.
How experiences at pharmacy school have shaped careers at Walgreens
The future of pharmacy within Walgreens
Career paths available for pharmacists at Walgreens
