Black History Month lecture this afternoon!: “Frederick Douglass and Northeast PA”

Join us for “Frederick Douglass and Northeast Pennsylvania” lecture: TODAY at 5 pm in Breiseth 106

Local historian E. J. Murphy will discuss the direct and indirect connections of the abolitionist’s work to residents of northeast Pennsylvania in the mid-nineteenth century. From his work with the Underground Railroad to relationships with local politicians to recruiting for the U.S. Colored Troops during the Civil War, Douglass’s activism impacted lives throughout the area.
