Have a high achieving student in your course? Recommend them to Honors!

Do you know students of a high academic caliber who have also demonstrated leadership potential and a spirit of service?  The Honors Program designed an “on-ramp” for current students who have demonstrated success during their first year at Wilkes.  To qualify for the Honors Program current Wilkes students must:

  • Have at least 6 remaining semesters in their traditional undergraduate experience (This is to ensure adequate time for them to complete their Honors credits before graduation)
  • Have maintained a high GPA of at least 3.5 during their time at Wilkes.
  • Have demonstrated clear leadership potential and community service participation either on-campus on in the broader community.

If you believe that any of your students or advisees would be a good fit for the Honors Program and would benefit from the many additional opportunities that admission into the Program would provide, please encourage them to fill out an application.

Additionally, we would like to thank all of you who have expressed interest in teaching an Honors course or in adding an Honors section to your existing courses for the upcoming semester.  The Honors Program Advisory Council is continuing to review courses for the upcoming semester so there is still time if you are interested in participating.  If you would like to create an Honors course or an &H section please fill out the form found here.  We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the process.

Thank you all for your help.

Sincerely,

Jon Kuiken & Jen McLaughlin
