Interested in exploring the meaning of life?

In PHL 242 next semester we will be taking up the following questions:  Does life have meaning and, if it does, do we discover that meaning or create it? How is religion relevant to meaning in life? Does altruism make life meaningful or undermine it? If we think of our lives differently, will they have more meaning or are we only fooling ourselves? What role do success and suffering each play in the meaning of life? Do the lives of famous or heroic people have more meaning than those of “ordinary persons”?

We will be meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30-3:45 p.m.

Prerequisite:  Any 100-level Philosophy course or permission of instructor.  Contact Dr. Paul at linda.paul@wilkes.edu with any questions about the course.
