Join guest artist and Wilkes alum Leah Vernon for a writing workshop and a reading today, Wednesday, March 20.
Vernon will visit the Creative Writing Workshop in Kirby 103 from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20. The workshop is open to Wilkes students, faculty and staff.
She will read from her newest work at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, in the Kirby Hall Salon. The reading, followed by a book signing, is free and open to the public.
Also known as Leah V, the author earned her master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Wilkes University. She tells her story in the memoir Unashamed: Musings of a Fat, Black Muslim and explores futuristic fiction in her dystopian novels The Union and The Dissent.
