MOWs works out of the Church of Christ Uniting (COCU) kitchen in Kingston. Volunteers pick up the meals between 9:00 – 10:00 on weekdays. A volunteer typically delivers 7-14 meals on their route, which may take about an hour. We have about 8-10 routes (including the Back Mountain) covering the east and west sides of the Susquehanna. Volunteers drop off the meals and may spend a few minutes with our clients, who may not see another person that day in some cases. We’re only looking for volunteers to offer one day a week. It could be 4 people agreeing to work together and take one day every 4 weeks.
A person needs their own vehicle of course and a willingness to help mostly elderly people in need of healthy food and socialization.
