Wilkes archives seeks Federal Work-study student to process Theater collection this Fall 2025 through Spring 2026

Wilkes University Archives is seeking a Federal work-study student who is interested in working Fall 2025 through Spring 2026 on a collection focusing on some Theater materials that were most likely owned and created by Alfred S. Groh, dramatist, Theater professor, and founder of the Fine Arts Fiesta. These materials were transferred over to the archives this summer from the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center and are in need of being physically processed, arranged, and described into a finding aid for future researchers. The Federal work-study student is expected to also write a blog post once the collection has been processed, highlighting aspects of the materials.

The materials in this collection range from theatrical publications, photographs, manuscripts, newspaper clippings, programs, theater syllabi, and other ephemera, making it a unique collection to process.

This collection would be ideal for a Theater major/minor, Music, or Dance student who has an interest in learning about Wilkes University institutional history.

Please reach out to suzanna.calev@wilkes.edu for more information regarding in-person hours and questions you may have about the project. Please include “Al Groh theater collection” in the subject line and send me an updated resume and a brief summary of what interests you about the project or collection.
