Reminder: Nominations Open for President’s Awards for Excellence

As a reminder, nominations are open for the President’s Awards for Excellence. We encourage employees to submit their nominations via this form by Wednesday, July 30. The President’s Awards for Excellence honor extraordinary achievements in the following categories:

  • Mentorship: Nurturing and empowering others through mentoring, advising and guidance

  • Scholarship: Advancing knowledge and innovation through research, publication or creative activity

  • Contributions to Diversity: Celebrating those who foster inclusivity, representation and belonging on campus

  • Innovation: Introducing creative solutions or programs that enhance our University’s impact

  • Community Building: Strengthening our campus culture through collaboration, empathy and civic engagement

  • Service: Recognizing individuals who engage in active citizenship and collaborative partnerships to enhance campus and our communities

  • Stewardship: Honoring those who are committed to intentionally honoring the University’s traditions and responsibly securing the evolution of Wilkes and its mission

Once reviewed by the President’s Cabinet, recipients and their nominators will be notified. Awardees will receive a $1,000 stipend, a commemorative lapel pin, a certificate and an invitation to the annual Founders Gala event.

The President’s Award recipients will be celebrated at Fall Convocation for faculty and staff at 9  a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, in the Jean and Paul Adams Commons on the second floor of the Henry Student Center. More information about Convocation will be shared later this summer. In the meantime, please mark your calendar for this important event.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to recognize those colleagues who exemplify Wilkes University’s values by submitting a nomination for the President’s Awards for Excellence.
