With the new general education curriculum set to begin for students entering Wilkes next fall (2026), the General Education Committee is collecting proposals to add Integrative Skills (IS) designations to courses that meet the new student learning outcomes (SLOs). For courses to meet the curriculum requirements for fall 2026, these proposals must be submitted by November 21, 2025.
Proposals can be submitted through the form on Curriculog: https://wilkes.curriculog.com
The approved curriculum is available here: Revised Gen Ed Curriculum
The approved student learning outcomes (SLOs) for Integrative Skills (IS) designations can be found here: SLOs for Integrative Skills
Proposal submissions should be done in consultation with Department/Division chairs, who will need to approve the proposal before it can be reviewed by GEC. Proposals must include a syllabus that maps course outcomes for the sought IS designation and a brief assessment plan identifying how these SLOs will be assessed.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Chris Zarpentine (chris.zarpentine@wilkes.edu), acting Chair of GEC.
