Wilkes University Archives seeks a Federal Work-Study eligible student to process The BUJC Flyboy‘s collection in Spring 2026, a collection of materials on information regarding a contingent of Bucknell University Junior College students who were World War II Air Corps veterans who spent part of their military time studying at Wilkes. The BUJC Flyboys were formally the 6th College Training Detachment (Aircrew) of Bucknell University Junior College. At BUJC in 1943–44, they trained to become airmen in the U.S. Army Air Forces. This material needs to be arranged and organized and a finding aid needs to be created along with a blogpost highlighting the history of this student group at Wilkes. This collection is ideal for a student interested in this region’s service during WWII.

If you have financial aid and are interested in the position, please email your resume and a brief paragraph explaining your interest in the project to suzanna.calev@wilkes.edu with the subject line: BUJC Flyboys project.
