College Dems Period Product Drive

The Wilkes College Dems will be helping run a Period Product Drive on Saturday, January 31, between the hours of 12:00-2:00 PM. This mutual aid drive will take place near, but off campus, at 67 Public Square here in Wilkes-Barre. This event is a part of a much larger day of action across Northeast PA, where the NEPA Young Dems will be hosting similar events across the region in locations such as Scranton, Stroudsburg, Milford, Bethlehem, and Honesdale

All donations must be in new & sealed containers/boxes

Donation suggestions include that of: Pads, Tampons, Liners, Period Underwear, Menstrual Cups/Discs, Pain Medications (Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Midol, Advil), Heating Pad, Hot Pack/Bottle

This day of action and mutual aid is in response to disappointing ‘NO’ votes from PA House Republicans on HB 1957, which included several State Representatives from NEPA and Luzerne County. The legislation in this bill is to secure protections of reproductive freedom and privacy for Pennsylvanians within our commonwealth’s constitution. We encourage people to read up on the bill themselves, which you can do so here: https://www.palegis.us/legislation/bills/2025/hb1957

We are encouraging those who are able, and willing, to provide donations at a location nearest to you.
In a time where we see crises in healthcare, affordability, and a list of other issues far too long for this post, it seems community support and mutual aid is the top way to navigate such turbulence.
