Green Bandana Project MESSAGING to MEMBERS SPRING 26 (Wilkes Today and email)
Hello to GBP members!
First, TY for your presence and commitment to this mental health support! Your having completed the training within the last two years suggests how YOU CARE about the mental wellness of our campus community!
Now, something we want to consider moving forward – on a few fronts as members:
- Access to the resources provided by the organization which manages the GBP nationwide – SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices in Education). FIRST social media presence:
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/green.bandana.project/
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thegreenbandanaproject
X: https://x.com/thebandanaproj
- Student access – there are a few layers to this:
https://bit.ly/tgbp-student-sign-up
And you should then see a page that prompts you to look at student resources and affiliation – be sure to connect to the Wilkes University page. Once you are signed up, you should have access to several links around the GBP programming we have as part of our affiliation. A more detailed email is being sent out to all members, as well. A few images for what you should see are attached. What is KEY is that you sign up as a WILKES UNIVERSITY student, using your Wilkes email, to support the linkage beyond responding to any questions asking about your affiliation (there should be a drop down or short answer box that supports this). The goal is this brings you back to OUR Wilkes presence on this network by the SAVE folks who manage the GBP.
The other thing we wish to accomplish in connecting more is to attend a “check in” with me at least once this spring semester. My hope is we do these AFTER the established training days I have for new members/interested students on: Jan 27, Feb 5, 10, 19, and 24 during the first half of the semester. That means for timing for “check in’s” to be 6 PM in SLC 130 (I will notify those interested to confirm that room or if in case we need to go elsewhere but for now SLC 130 is it). A QR code linked to a Google Form for sign up is attached to this post.
This “check in” matters – to be able to talk about what could have happened with any peer encounters and in sharing messaging cards, beyond what I had asked at trainings to email me if you are distributing cards and “how you feel” around your presence with the GBP process. (I have heard from a few of you, but others not until later indicating they have distributed cards…remember my email is todd.hastings@wilkes.edu). A check in is even better – to support amongst other members how things are going and your impressions around our campus advocacy. Here is a QR code with link around your intentions to come and check in:
Note that we at Wilkes are GRATEFUL for your interest and presence around the GBP! This mental health support MATTERS at Wilkes!
Best to you all – BE WELL! See you soon! Dr. Hastings
