Lavender Celebration

The Wilkes University Gender and Sexuality Alliance is hosting a lavender celebration to honor our LGBTQ+ students graduating this year. The celebration is open to all students. You do not have to be an active member of the GSA to participate. The celebration will take place on May 12th at 3 pm in the Miller Room. Participants will receive a certificate and lavender cord. If you would like to participate, please complete this quick form or email Dr. Helen Davis with your name as you would like it to appear on your certificate and in the ceremony as well as your majors/minors/degrees. The ceremony is open to undergraduate and graduate students. Please respond by Friday, May 1st.

The first lavender graduation was held in 1995 at the University of Michigan. Now, more than 50 colleges and universities across the country celebrate with ceremonies and celebrations.  We thank the Office of Diversity Initiatives for their support for this event.
