The Division of Global Cultures is excited to announce a new interdisciplinary minor (6 courses) and concentration (4 courses) in Health Humanities. This program is designed for students interested in health-related careers or graduate programs and is an excellent complement to any science major. It is also a great opportunity to apply humanities skills, such as critical thinking and writing, to a rapidly growing career field. By drawing on perspectives from literature, philosophy, history, and the social sciences, the program allows students to explore the complex human dimensions of medicine. Health Humanities students will practice analyzing complex ethical and cultural issues in medicine, learn effective communication strategies, and gain practical health career knowledge.
Graduates will gain competitive advantages in graduate program applications and a more well-rounded education for careers in medicine, nursing, health administration, social work, and beyond.
