The\u00a0U.S. Fulbright Student Program<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>offers incredible opportunities for early career professionals\u00a0of any age\u00a0to jumpstart their careers by teaching English abroad for one academic year \u2013\u00a0all expenses paid<\/i>. As a Fulbright\u00a0ETA (English Teaching Assistant<\/strong>)<\/a> you would be assisting the local English teacher\u2013not in charge of the ESL program itself. In fact, you do not need ESL training or teaching experience, although that would be a plus.<\/p>\n

\n

Study\/Research<\/a><\/strong> grants are also available to students who design their own projects, such as a writing a novel or conducting a research project. These grantees typically work with advisers at foreign universities or other institutes of higher education in approximately 140 countries. You can also pursue a graduate degree abroad, often with tuition expenses covered. Your Fulbright award would then be contingent upon your acceptance at the chosen university. Remember: you can only apply to ONE AWARD in ONE COUNTRY EACH YEAR! Over 140 countries<\/a> offer Fulbright Grants, which are subsidized by the U.S. Department of State and open to U. S. students, recent graduates, or early career professionals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This Week’s Award Spotlight: SAUDI ARABIA<\/u><\/strong>: <\/span>Fulbright<\/span>\/KAUST\u00a0Scholarship Award<\/b><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/b>provides provides full tuition support, on-campus housing, roundtrip airfare, routine medical coverage within Saudi Arabia, and a monthly stipend for STEM applicants to pursue a master’s degree.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Last Week’s Award Spotlight:\u00a0<\/u><\/span>SOUTH PACIFIC<\/u>:<\/strong> The South Pacific Island Nations Open Study\/Research Award<\/b><\/a>\u00a0provides opportunities for students who wish to propose study\/research projects in Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, OR Vanuatu. (Note: This is NOT a multi-country award.)\u00a0All grantees must be prepared to work\u00a0independently\u00a0<\/u>with a minimum of supervision. Candidates must be mature, resourceful and flexible. Candidates at all degree levels are eligible, but preference will be given to master’s and doctoral candidates.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
