Through donor support last year, <strong>26,399<\/strong> lives were touched. Of these, <strong>18,049 <\/strong>were children. All gifts, no matter the size, add up and help the most vulnerable in our community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Today is the day<\/strong> to make a pledge in support of the fight against childhood poverty in the Wyoming Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Here are examples of what your support can do:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$1\/week: <\/strong>Provides health &amp; hygiene items, clothing, and other supplies for 8 children during the school year through the Nurse\u2019s Pantry program.<\/li>\n<li><strong>$3\/week: <\/strong>Enrolls 5 children in The Dolly Parton Imagination Library for an entire year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5\/week: <\/strong>Helps lower the costs of childcare, after-school, or summer learning programs for a month.<\/li>\n<li><strong>$10\/week: <\/strong>Provides support services to 5 students struggling with school related issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We proudly partner with and support <strong>8 local Agencies<\/strong> through our Education Grants, which fund programs that offer academic support, mentoring, and resources for students in need.<\/p>\n<p>We also invest in <strong>Early Learning and School Based Initiatives<\/strong> to help teachers and administrators focus on what they do best\u2014teaching.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Special Initiatives include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Annual Children\u2019s Book Drive, Literacy Kits, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Million Minute Challenge, Reading Buddies, Tag-In for Summer Learning, Attendance Awareness Poster Contest, Loads of Love, School-Based Community Navigator, See to Succeed and the Nurse\u2019s Pantry<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To <strong>LIVE UNITED<\/strong> is to recognize that when we support each other, we can change lives and make our community stronger.
