{"id":24212,"date":"2025-04-29T09:09:18","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T13:09:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.wilkes.edu\/?p=24212"},"modified":"2025-04-29T09:09:18","modified_gmt":"2025-04-29T13:09:18","slug":"usac-seeks-new-committee-members-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.wilkes.edu\/index.php\/2025\/04\/29\/usac-seeks-new-committee-members-6\/","title":{"rendered":"USAC Seeks New Committee Members"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University Staff Advisory Committee (USAC) invites staff to submit letters of interest to join the committee for the 2025-26 fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>Staff members who began full-time employment on or before June 1, 2024, are invited to submit a letter of interest detailing why you would like to be part of USAC and what you feel your membership would add to the committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Letters of interest should be emailed to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:usac@wilkes.edu\">usac@wilkes.edu<\/a>\u00a0no later than Wednesday, April 30, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Questions? Contact\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:mandy.pennington@wilkes.edu\">Mandy Pennington<\/a>, USAC Chair, or ask any current USAC member and we\u2019d be happy to help!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is USAC?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wilkes University Staff Advisory Committee (USAC) represents all levels of staff, focuses on the issues that impact staff and works collaboratively with the Faculty Affairs Council (FAC) on issues that impact both staff and faculty. USAC organizes staff mentoring, staff recognition initiatives, and community service opportunities, among other activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>USAC Committee members are required to<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advocate on behalf of the staff community at Wilkes and\u00a0bring recommendations to the Committee;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in all regularly scheduled meetings held on the first Thursday of every month at 9 a.m., missing no more than three (3) per fiscal year;<\/li>\n<li>Serve on subcommittees, as needed;<\/li>\n<li>Communicate to his\/her respective area regarding issues handled through the Committee;<\/li>\n<li>Promote a positive and solution-orientated approach to University issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can learn more about USAC activities and members on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilkes.edu\/about-wilkes\/university-committees\/university-staff-advisory-committee\/index.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USAC webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University Staff Advisory Committee (USAC) invites staff to submit letters of interest to join the committee for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
