Her thesis, titled &#8220;Utilizing Advancements in CRISPR Technology to Study Genes Involved in Development in <em>Drosophila melanogaster<\/em>&#8220;, evaluates current tools available for gene editing\/manipulation in <em>Drosophila<\/em>. Many genes within the <em>Drosophila<\/em> genome are not well-characterized. It is vital to study these genes, especially those thought to be involved in egg formation.
