Wilkes-Barre City has announced road closures for Saturday around Public Square.<\/p>\n
Parking meters in the area will be bagged, indicating NO PARKING, beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday.<\/p>\n
Vehicles will not be ticketed on Friday afternoon. Ticketing will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday and towing will begin at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
Closures include:<\/p>\n
\u2022 South Main Street from Northampton Street to Public Square.<\/p>\n
\u2022 North Main Street from Union Street to Public Square.<\/p>\n
\u2022 East Market Street from South Washington Street to Public Square.<\/p>\n
\u2022 West Market Street from South Franklin Street to Public Square.<\/p>\n
The city said the closures were \u201cfor the safety of attendees of a privately sponsored community event.\u201d<\/p>\n
