{"id":26808,"date":"2025-10-08T15:23:55","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T19:23:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.wilkes.edu\/?p=26808"},"modified":"2025-10-08T15:23:55","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T19:23:55","slug":"today-permanently-take-home-personal-mobility-devices-from-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.wilkes.edu\/index.php\/2025\/10\/08\/today-permanently-take-home-personal-mobility-devices-from-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"TODAY: Permanently Take Home Personal Mobility Devices from Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>As of today, Oct. 9, all students with personalized mobility devices, as outlined in the attached policy, must <span class=\"il\">remove<\/span> them from campus property and take them home permanently, as the policy is now in full effect.<\/strong> (People with disabilities who have a <strong>documented medical need<\/strong>\u00a0to use the device inside buildings will be allowed to use them inside Wilkes University and on campus.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Due to hazards and safety concerns associated with the use, storage and charging of standing, motorized scooters, e-scooters, bicycles with electric assist, Segways, hoverboards and similarly-powered devices, Wilkes University has imposed restrictions on their use, storage and operation on campus.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enforcement &amp; Penalties:<\/strong><br \/>Campus security will actively enforce these rules to ensure safety for all students, faculty and staff.
