As the spring semester is underway, the Office of Academic<\/span> Success would like to thank you again for your continued support of our students. The Early Alert<\/span> system (EA) is available for faculty use.\u00a0 EA plays a pivotal role in identifying student needs and providing guidance and resources for students.<\/p>\n

EA is a tool designed to allow faculty to provide “just-in-time” feedback so that critical academic<\/span> and non-academic<\/span> interventions and support can be provided to our students when needed. The program is easy to use and provides a comprehensive range of information to staff in the Office of Academic<\/span> Success, academic<\/span> advisors, coaches, and our students.<\/p>\n

You can submit an early alert<\/span> by logging in through asc.wilkes.edu\/earlyalert <\/a> . You can also access Early Alert<\/span> through a single sign-on in LIVE under the More Tools drop-down menu in the navigation bar of a course.<\/p>\n

We encourage all faculty to use the EA as much as possible, in particular those faculty teaching courses targeted primarily to first<\/span> and second year students. While we emphasize these courses,\u00a0the system is available for all undergraduate courses<\/strong>. While reporting is most helpful between now and midterms, we encourage feedback at any time during the semester. We believe that our EA system has continued to play a significant role in our ability to reduce the percent of first<\/span> year students on academic<\/span> probation.<\/p>\n
