As part of that commitment, we will host a Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) training session at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, in the Jean and Paul Adams Commons on the second floor of the Henry Student Center.<\/p>\n
The CRASE course, built on the \u201cAvoid, Deny, Defend\u201d strategy developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center in 2004, provides practical strategies, guidance and a proven plan to help individuals respond effectively during an active shooter situation.<\/p>\n
The training will last about one hour and will cover the history and prevalence of active shooter incidents, the role of professional guardians, civilian response options and medical considerations.<\/p>\n
There is no cost to attend the training; however, advance registration is required.<\/p>\n
