Janae will read their poems, followed by a question-and-answer session.\u00a0The event is free and open to the public\u2014no registration required.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Janae is a Brooklyn-based poet and educator. Janae is the author of three poetry collections, including their most recent collection,\u00a0<em>Because You Were Mine<\/em>, which was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award in Lesbian Poetry. A previous collection,\u00a0<em>Blessed Are the Peacemakers<\/em>, was the recipient of the Cave Canem Northwestern University Press Poetry Prize. Their debut collection was titled\u00a0<em>After Jubilee.<\/em><em><br \/><\/em><em><br \/><\/em>Janae\u2019s work has been featured in Best American Poetry (2022),\u00a0<em>Ploughshares<\/em>, the\u00a0<em>American Poetry Review<\/em>, the\u00a0<em>Academy of American Poets Poem-a-Day<\/em>, the\u00a0<em>Sun Magazine, Jubilat\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Waxwing, <\/em>among others.
