A discussion of the SS United States will be held on Wednesday, April 29 from 2-4 PM in the JPAC.\u00a0 The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required.<\/p>\n
The SS United States is an ocean liner that is often referred to as \u201cAmericas Flagship\u201d. She broke the world speed record for a trans-Atlantic crossing in 1952 on her maiden voyage to England, a record which stands to this day.\u00a0 It will be sunk as the world\u2019s largest artificial reef off the coast of Florida in May 2026.<\/p>\n
