{"id":32727,"date":"2026-04-30T09:24:41","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T13:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.wilkes.edu\/?p=32727"},"modified":"2026-04-30T09:24:42","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T13:24:42","slug":"safe-medication-disposal-box","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.wilkes.edu\/index.php\/2026\/04\/30\/safe-medication-disposal-box\/","title":{"rendered":"Safe Medication Disposal Box"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Wilkes University Police would like to remind everyone of the drug disposal box located in the lobby of Public Safety.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You Can Dispose of the Following Items:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prescription and over-the-counter solid medications<\/li>\n<li>Prescription and OTC tablets and capsules<\/li>\n<li>Pet medicines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Prepare Items for Disposal:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All pharmaceutical drugs to be disposed must be placed in a sealed container such as the original bottle or zip-lock bag<\/li>\n<li>Liquid pharmaceuticals should remain in the original container<\/li>\n<li>Personal information should be removed or marked out with a permanent marker<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>You May Not Dispose of the Following Items:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thermometers<\/li>\n<li>Hydrogen peroxide<\/li>\n<li>Intravenous solutions<\/li>\n<li>Iodine-containing medications<\/li>\n<li>Compressed cylinders or aerosols (i.e. asthma inhalers)<\/li>\n<li>Alcohol and illicit drugs (i.e. marijuana, heroin, LSD, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Injectables, syringes, and needles* (i.e. EpiPens)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*Contact a health care professional or hospital for disposal of these items.<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wilkes University Police would like to remind everyone of the drug disposal box located in the lobby of Public Safety.
