Wilkes University is pleased to announce an opening for an Accountant in the Finance Office. This position supports the University\u2019s financial operations by assisting with account reconciliations, financial reporting, and daily accounting functions as part of the Finance Team.<\/p>\n
The successful candidate will be responsible for reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts, preparing journal entries, supporting agency funds, assisting with annual financial statements and audit workpapers, and helping prepare internal and external financial reports, including the Form 990 tax return. A bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting and a minimum of two years of accounting experience are required. The ideal candidate will have experience with fund accounting, preferably in higher education, along with strong organizational, communication, customer service, and Microsoft Excel skills.<\/p>\n
