Brown has announced road closures and parking restrictions for Downtown Wilkes-Barre on Sunday, September 6<sup>th<\/sup> during the Wyoming Valley Run (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewyomingvalleyrun.com\/\">https:\/\/www.thewyomingvalleyrun.com\/<\/a>). Race spectators are encouraged to arrive early to park in Downtown Wilkes-Barre Park &amp; Locks, however, Park &amp; Lock East and Park &amp; Lock North will be inaccessible from 8 AM to 12 PM, during the race. All other motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Parking meters on the following streets will be bagged for \u201cNo Parking\u201d during the race. The meters will be bagged on Saturday, September 5<sup>th<\/sup>, however ticketing will begin at 6 AM and towing will begin at 8 AM on Sunday, September 6<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Public Square (from South Main Street to North Main Street)<\/li>\n<li>South Main Street from Northampton Street to Public Square<\/li>\n<li>Union Street from North River Street to North Washington Street<\/li>\n<li>State Street from Union Street to East Market Street<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The following streets will be closed to traffic between 8 AM and 12 PM:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Market Street Bridge from Kingston to Wilkes-Barre<\/li>\n<li>North River Street from Market Street to Jackson Street<\/li>\n<li>Union Street from North River Street to North State Street<\/li>\n<li>North State Street from Union Street to East Market Street<\/li>\n<li>South Washington Street from Jackson Street to East Market Street<\/li>\n<li>North Main Street from Union Street to Public Square<\/li>\n<li>East Market Street from North Pennsylvania Ave to Public Square<\/li>\n<li>Public Square from South Main Street to West Market Street<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Public Square will be open from West Market Street to South Main Street<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Traffic will be rerouted as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eastbound traffic from Market Street in Kingston will be rerouted southbound to South River Street in Wilkes-Barre.<\/li>\n<li>All northbound traffic from South Franklin Street will be rerouted east onto Public Square to access South Main Street and East Northampton Street.<\/li>\n<li>Southbound traffic from North River Street will be rerouted to Jackson Street to access North Street and North Pennsylvania Avenue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wilkes-Barre, PA September 2, 2026: Wilkes-Barre City Mayor George C.
