Are you a Political Science or Criminology major? Maybe just interested in politics? Consider applying for the Semester Domestic Study Abroad program in Washington D.C. through American University! This opportunity is available every <\/span>Fall, Spring, and Summer session<\/span>. <\/span>Applications for Spring and Summer 2027 are open now!<\/b><\/p>\n

Who is eligible?<\/b><\/p>\n

Any second semester Sophomore and above at the time of participation, with a cumulative GPA of 2.5, and approval from the Wilkes University representative (contact CCDI<\/a>) is eligible to apply for this opportunity. <\/span>

<\/span>What will you do?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

This is a semester full of internship opportunities, 15+ site visits around D.C., meetings with key decision-makers in Washington, and immersive seminars alongside the students’ regular course load at American University.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where will you stay?<\/b><\/p>\n

American University interns live in downtown Washington D.C. in a building with premium amenities, and a 24\/7 concierge – all close to shopping and restaurants!<\/span><\/p>\n

How do I apply?<\/b><\/p>\n

Interested students should apply at <\/span>this link<\/span><\/a> to submit your application (biographic data and a 250 word essay explaining why you are a good fit for the program), a letter of approval from the Wilkes University representative, and submit a resume and transcript. The deadline for the <\/span>Spring 2027 semester is<\/b> November 15th<\/b>, and the deadline for <\/span>Summer 2027 is<\/b> March 31, 2027<\/b>!<\/span><\/p>\n
